End of Summer Shoot
Hi all! So as you may have seen, RubiaWear recently did a photo shoot with the fabulous Kenneth B. Edwards (you most certainly know him from his instagram account full of stunning pictures of dancers from all over the place), if you don't already follow him, look him up @kennethbedwards His stuff is pretty awesome and we've been lucky to be doing shoots with him for over 2 years now.
For this shoot we chose to gather and explore the Harvard area, more specifically Harvard Yard. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful day (lucky too, because there was rain the whole week before). What a lovely area. Cambridge in general is so beautiful, and the Harvard campus is of course no exception.
And yes, you're correct if you think you've spotted a new product... coming very soon!!! PS, not all fabrics you see will be offered online, you may notice that we like to display fun examples in our photos of all sorts of patterns and colors.. we like to stick to our method of keeping new things coming at you, and maintaining a certain element of surprise for what is to come.
We like to make the day fun for all involved. Kenneth works his magic, and the dancers, well, they really don't even have to try, they're gorgeous no matter what. Its nice to provide some guidance as to what is worn but I love to have people bring their own personal style into the shoot. I think it makes things more unique. Accessorizing is very encouraged and even incorporating some other dancer-owned brands into the mix is always fun. At the end of the day we've had some good laughs, got to play dress-up for a few hours, and all get to take home some beautiful images.
One of the most entertaining parts of the day is when we get to shoot the kids for the Rubita and MINI line. RubiaWear is so lucky to have such precious little models, who all have either a mom or dad who's a professional dancer, so lets just say they've got it in their blood. For this shoot we had Manami, Kaiyo, and our youngest at 1.5 years old, Cora. I mean what else can I say besides they are all beyond adorable (and hilarious).
Thanks again to Kenneth, Lia, Kathleen, Lola, Rie, Derek, SeoHe, Hannah, and Addie for coming and sharing your gifts!
