Garden Party

Last night was a wonderful success!  Thanks to all of you in the South Bay who attended the event at Activity Pointe, the new GO-TO for pointe shoe fittings, top of the line dance wear, and now... RubiaWear!  

Here's a little overview of how it all went down.

It was so much fun hanging out with all of the local dancers, their parents and just checking out the newest boutique where RubiaWear will be offered.  We can't say enough about this stunning shop located right in the heart of Torrance, CA as well as the shop owner, Vicky Lambert.  Curated by the gorgeous Vicky Lambert herself, the shop is filled with only the most beautiful, well made leotards and other dance wear on the market today.  The whole shop has a wonderfully feminine feel to it, especially during our garden party when extra adornments of giant paper flowers, moss, and homemade cake and cupcakes (which looked like they'd come straight from a trendy LA bakery) were scattered throughout the shop.  

After chatting, getting autographs and taking pictures with Ashley Ellis (owner of RubiaWear and principal dancer with Boston Ballet) every one settled down for a little Q&A session.  Ashley opened up about what its like to be a principal dancer in a major ballet company.  Everyone had so many wonderful questions that we had to cut it short or we may have been there all night!  From what's your favorite or least favorite role? to how do you keep going after a bad day? to how do you deal with stretching at home with dogs that drool and shed?, LOL, we just about covered it all. 

If you're able to make it down to Activity Pointe, aside from the lovely dance wear you'll find a 'great wall' of pointe shoes (a real dream come to life), a large TV streaming a variety of professional videos and even a beautiful little platform 'stage' where the pointe shoe fittings take place.  You may leave with a few pairs of pointes, and some leg warmers, but on top of that you will walk out inspired and ready to chase your dreams.
